SERVICES
One team, from the first sketch to the last panel.
Clients tell us the hardest part of mass timber isn’t the panel. It’s that most suppliers just want to sell the panel. We take the timber structure on with you: design, engineering, construction and carpentry, with one point of contact accountable from the first sketch. We recommend the timber system that fits the building: our own DLT where it fits, CLT or glulam where it fits better.
WHAT WE DO
HOW WE WORK WITH YOU
From first sketch to last panel.
01
Concept
Is timber right for this building, and which system? We look at spans, panel depths and layout with you, and give you a sizing response. Available now.
02
Design development
We work alongside your architect and structural engineer: panel layout, depths, face profiles including acoustic, and the fire and acoustic approach. We give your engineer the panel data they design with under the Canadian wood design standard (CSA O86).
03
Detailing
Shop drawings prepared for your project, or coordinated with your own detailer.
04
Production
Every panel made to your drawings, with its own Grainmark record behind a QR code on the panel edge.
05
Delivery and installation
Panels delivered in installation order, weather-wrapped, with a plywood protection layer and lifting devices fitted, with load lists. Openings and penetrations are cut in the shop, where the engineer of record locates them. We work with your erector from the first sequence plan and stay involved to the last panel.
THE RIGHT SYSTEM
Our panel where it fits. The right timber where it doesn’t.
We make dowel laminated timber (DLT) and prefer to build with it, but we recommend the system that fits the building: our DLT, or cross-laminated timber (CLT) or glulam where they suit it better. Bring your own architect, engineer or erector and we work alongside them, or let us carry the whole timber scope.
WE COME FROM CONSTRUCTION
Our team has run construction projects in Southern Ontario for fifteen years, from pre-construction to site. We know what a late change, a missed delivery or a crane waiting on site costs, because we’ve paid for them.
