A Canadian manufacturer built from the ground up.
Engrained was founded to bring precision mass timber manufacturing to Canada. Canadian architects and developers were already specifying DLT — but sourcing it from the US or Europe, with long lead times, high freight costs, and limited customisation.
We are building a manufacturing facility in Southern Ontario to change that. Our press is being designed from first principles — tighter dowel spacing, force-verified hydraulic insertion, and a complete production record for every panel — quality verification beyond anything currently available in mass timber.

Most mass timber producers in North America run presses imported from Europe. Ours is different: Engrained is an Ontario company, building panels in an Ontario factory, on a press engineered and built by a mechatronics company in Ontario — with Canadian wood from Canadian mills.
That matters for more than pride. A press built an hour away means faster service, spare parts without an ocean in between, and a machine designed around our exact product instead of adapted to it. Canadian wood in a Canadian supply chain means shorter transport, lower freight emissions, and dollars that stay in the communities that grow the trees.
