Mass Timber · Southern Ontario

Engineered to build better.

A new Mass Timber manufacturer coming to Southern Ontario in 2026.

The Material

What is Dowel Laminated Timber?

DLT is a structural mass timber panel made from SPF softwood lamella joined edge-to-edge by hardwood dowels. No glue. No metal fasteners. Just wood, joined by wood.

The dowels are inserted at a lower moisture content than the surrounding lamella. As they equilibrate, they swell into a permanent friction-fit bond — a joint that strengthens as the wood settles. The result is natural, carbon-storing, and structurally precise.

Why Engrained

Built to a higher standard.

Panel size

60 ft × 12 ft

Floors and roofs in full-length single pieces — 18,288 × 3,660 mm.

Dowel spacing

12 in OC

305 mm on centre — tighter than any current market standard, measurably higher structural integrity.

Fasteners

No glue, resins or metal fasteners — just wood pressed into wood.

Assurance

100%

Of dowels force-verified — insertion monitored and logged on every panel.

Mass Timber

A material for the next generation of building.

Mass timber sequesters carbon, brings warmth and natural calm to interiors, and builds faster than concrete or steel. Left exposed, DLT becomes the finished ceiling — structure and aesthetic in a single, honest element.

By the Numbers

Performance you can specify.

2 hr

2 hr

Fire-resistance rating

Assigned to tested DLT assemblies under ASTM E119 and CAN/ULC S101 at a minimum 6-inch (140 mm) panel depth. Exposed timber chars predictably at 0.65 mm/min, protecting a load-bearing structural core, when specified correctly.
